SNHA Parent Workshop- IS IT MY CHILD OR IS IT ME?
Understanding Your Parenting Triggers and Building Confidence at Home
About This Workshop:
Are you tired of the daily power struggles? Do you find yourself reacting to your child's behavior in ways you wish you hadn't? You are not alone. Parenting is the hardest job we will ever do, and our children’s behaviors often act as a mirror, triggering our own stress responses and past experiences.
This workshop is designed to help you shift from reactive parenting to confident, connected parenting. Learn how to look beneath the surface of challenging behaviors and uncover what your child—and you—really need in the moment.
What You Will Learn:
• The "Why" Behind the Behaviors: Decode the hidden messages and unmet needs driving your child’s actions.
• Learn Your Own Triggers: Discover the reasons why your child's specific behaviors trigger an intense reaction in you.
• Overcoming Power Struggles: Transition from a place of control and frustration to cooperation and connection.
• Picking Your Battles: Learn which rules matter most and how to confidentlylet go of the rest.
• The Power of Choices: Discover how to offer age-appropriate choices that give your child a healthy sense of control.
This workshop will be led by Amanda Fichera, who holds a Master’s degree in School Counseling, a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, and is currently completing her Advanced Certificate in Mental Health Counseling. Amanda has extensive experience working with students with emotional, behavioral, and educational needs through individual support, behavior intervention, and social-emotional learning programs.
